A couple of my friends are throwing a costume party, bring your own beer, of course. And I'm dressing up as Heath Ledger's Joker from the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight. I'm having the costume tailor made. Ordered it from ebay to fit my specific measurements. The trousers, waistcoat, coat etc. My hair is very short, and those of you who have seen Ledger's Joker know he has long hair, like so:

(IMG:http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc131/Jokerfan1980/dk08hl0005bq7.jpg)

So I've ordered a wig from ebay, too. I've even ordered the latex scars for the cut smile smile that he has. I got other little things myself in my local stores. Things like the gloves, the knife [it's plastic, not a real one lol], and the Joker cards he carries around.

I'm very excited for this, and I will post pics of myself in costume and make up after Halloween. So is anyone else intending to dress up? Or am I the only kid around here? (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The Joker costume I had last year was amateur compared to the one I'm going to have this year. This one is the real deal, which is why I'm so excited to get it. Proper make up with latex scars, too.

Jareth, the goblin king!!!!! You look terrific, Rob. Did you do any of the musical numbers while in costume like 'Dance magic'?

I love the Labyrinth. One of my favourite childhood movies, and I still watch it on DVD every few months. Wonderful movie. My favourite character is still the little british fox, Sir Didimus.

I'm going as Edward Scissorhands this year - complete with wig, make up and scissor hands! It's a great costume and am really looking forward to Halloween this year.

Robert - your David Bowie costume is great ! I LOVE the Labyrinth. One of my all time favourites...
"You remind me of the babe"
"What babe?"
"The babe with the power"
"What power?"
"The power of voodoo"
"who do?"
"you do"

Nola - i remember your pics from last year and thought you looked amazing. Looking forward to seeing your new take on Joker this year !! :) :) :)

Thank you all for the kind comments. To those of you who are dressing up, Badboy, Mark etc, I hope you guys will share some pics with us (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Now, for a little preview of my costume. It finally arrived this morning. I got a chance to try it on at lunch time, and took a few pics. Apologies for the so-so quality of the pics. My mum took these, and she cannot operate a digital camera to save her life lol:

I am thrilled with the quality of the costume. It turned out better than I thought it would.

Very scary with the knife! Loving the pine doors and furniture! haha...its gonna look so good with all the make-up/wig etc etc

Thanks for people admiring my Jareth Goblin King costume as you can see bin liners come in handy sometimes and buying stuff from tesco (gloves and boots) but keeping labels on to take back the next day! This wig is a Tina Turner lol
and I may seem extrememly outgoing and funny but around people I dont know I am really shy so dont expect performances at the dinner with Amanda LOL unless I get insanely drunk!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll have more pics next week when I get my Joker wig, latex scars.....and have a shave, of course (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The Joker does not have a beard under his make up!

I know I'm crazy, but one last pic:

Hey Joker - looking great.

And I'm gonna be Batman. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It won't be on Halloween, but for a big Halloween Bash I've avoided for a decade. Time to return!

I've always wanted to be Batman, and finally, tonight, I gave up looking at costumes and tried on BM. I figure WTF, even if I no longer have a Robin (bf) now, I'll be Batman before he met Robin. I'm renting my costume. I'll have to remember to take pics that night since it goes back the next day. I even have new Batman underwear. Anyone who dresses up as a comic book character gets my instant admiration. Even more if it's a Batman related character (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I hope you'll share some pics with us when you get the costume.

And Batman always works much better solo, IMO. Look at the two fantastic Christian Bale Batman movies. No Robin in sight. And not even a hint of him for the next sequal.

Funny fact: I'm sure everyone remembers the campy 60's Batman TV show with Adam West. Well, if you remember the mansion Batman and Robin lived in, their alter egos, Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, lived with their butler, Alfred, and Dick's Aunt Harriet. The Aunt Harriet character was a character created for the show. She didn't come from the comic books. The reason they put her in there was to dispel any notions that Batman and Robin were gay. With Aunt Harriet living there instead of just three blokes, things were kept respectable lol.

True story.

Mark, Robin is a full time position, not just for Halloween. ;-)
I think you'll look hot in green tights.

I hate taking pics, but I'll make sure to get a few.
I am glad Batman has been solo so I don't look like half of a duo. But Mark offered, so I'd be happy to have a Robin.

Aunt Harriet was supposed to make us believe they were not gay!? Hah. She was like an old fag hag.
Even Catwoman nor Batgirl couldn't get me to think they were straight.

I just know behind that library hidden wall, Robin occasionally slid down Batman's pole. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Well, the Batman costume went over well, but not without it's complications.

The Polyester and rubber is frickin HOT. Sweaty and HOT. Not fun.

I wore the rubber Bat Mask for about 5 mins. It was very hot, and my sight was impaired - couldn't see sideways or up and down. So I took it off the rest of the night. That confused a few people who then thought I was Robin as I had the painted Robin mask on beneath my mask:

(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/wilecoyote11/IMG_1097-1-1-2.jpg)

(The Batman costume was completely Black from one of the flicks, so it was easily confusing to think I was Robin as the Bat Logo was in Black too.)

The cape was cool - it had extenders in it so you lift it up into the huge batwings that stay up.
One problem I had - nowhere to carry *anything*. I had my wallet in my sock as the BatBelt was just a piece of rubber. Couldn't take my camera. Must take that into account next time I rent a costume. My friend wound up carrying my wallet for me cause I kept dropping things wearing the rubber bat gloves (dropped drink tickets, dropped the bat mask, and even dropped my ticket to the party, yea I was a mess).

I know the shop rents clean costumes, but apparently someone tried on the costume before I rented it cause the polyester shirt smelled BAD - I was kinda freaked out as I dressed cause now I didn't have a long sleeve black shirt to go beneath, so I wound up just using a tank top and the cape and long gloves pretty much covered my arms most of the time, cause I would have looked stupid. I also would've perspired even more had I wore the black shirt.

Overall, I had fun. Got my Batman thing out of my system!

Here's a pic taken with my best friends outside the Party on the Patio of the Center:

(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/wilecoyote11/ball1-2-1-1.jpg)

Joan Crawford on the Left, and Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford (Mommie Dearest) on the Right. If you look closely, you can see Mommie's wire hanger and my extended Batwings/cape. I abandoned the rubber bat mask long before this pic was taken.

Not sure what I'll be doing for Halloween night this Friday.

How's the costumes coming along? Joker?

GMOB - your costume looks amazing ! And I LOVE that your mates have dressed up as Joan Crawford and Faye Dunaway.... (I'm a huge Joan fan.) The Faye one looks particularly good with the manic face and the wire hangers !! Did Joan go around saying 'bless you' to each and everyone at the party? Was Faye screaming for "Tina - bring me the axe!!!!" ?? (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Great costume GMOB, I'm sure you must have had a great deal of fun even with all the perspiring and discomfort or what not. Your friends' costumes are great, too, by the way - but, and I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I initially thought that the Faye Dunaway make-up made your friend look a bit more like Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. I think it's the bright red lipstick and the white face paint (or perhaps my failing eysight. Lol.) - but, saying that, when I read it was Faye Dunaway, I could see that, too. So, that says a lot about my discerning ability, doesn't it. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Oh I recognised Faye Dunaway as Joan straight away ! I love Mommie Dearest (but only for it's high camp factor - it bears no resemblence to Joan life at all !!) and that scene is one of the best. The cold cream on her face - manic look in her eyes ! Love it !! :)

Awesome, awesome costume, GMOB. You look fantastic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And that's coming from a die hard Batman fan.

I'm not surprised the Bat mask bothered you. I hate wearing anything on my head. I was going to wear a green wig for my costume, but it's hot and irritating to wear, so I'm just dying my own hair green instead. My hair is not as long as Heath's Joker alas, but it's a small change.

Anyway, it's great to see another Batman character in here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I hope the rest of you will share pics with us. I'll have mine on saturday.

Glad you all liked the look. Thanks.

Mark, now getting all sweaty as Batman would be more fun with you as Robin. :)

I cannot imagine being a teddy bear under all that fur. Don't know what the heck I was thinking not realizing the cool batmask would be no fun to wear.

BTW, I am not a midget even though I look really short in that pic. We were outside at the time and the huge lawn went downhill so I am behind and below them. I am actually several inches taller than "Faye" - although Amazon "Joan" is taller, at 6'. I am 5'9.

BadBoy recognized the coldcream scene "Faye" was doing - it was the big "No Wire Hangers EVER!" scene for those of you who might not be Mommie Dearest nutballs (like me) where her face is all covered and she has a white headband on; I know the film and quotes better than they do, but not into the drag stuff. He had her cross-eyed crazed look down really well, and they would spout random quotes. Our other friend was Christina, and HE actually looked more like Baby Jane from "WEHT Baby Jane?" We wanted him to really camp it up with a blackeye and bruises but he wimped out and didn't do that. So we teased him about being Baby Jane.

Joker, You'll probably look better dying your hair green since the wigs can look cheap. That's why I painted on a mask, thought it would look more unique than a store mask. One thing that was funny was the different versions of Batman & Robin (60s - to more current). However, my favorite was the Green Lantern. He was HOT. Didn't get any pic of him, though.

Hope you guys have fun dressing up. Go out and have fun Roberto. I'm going to a club for Halloween, though not sure what I am wearing.

Here's a pic of my dog in her costume. In honor of Prisoner Cell Block H.

(IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/wilecoyote11/IMG_1088-1.jpg)

Yes, she's Top Dog.

Hey Joker, that last pic of you sitting down - and I mean this as a compliment - you look really creepy. Anthony Hopkins creepy. Yet still very cute. :)

Yeah, that's another good point. And knowing my luck, if I did wear a wig, it'd fall off or get lost when I get really drunk (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Here he is:

Ok, I got some pics here from last night's festivities. T'was a great night. I went from a college party to a house a party [All with the same group of people]. I was gushed with compliments all evening about my costume. Even standing at the bus stop, people walking by were complimenting me. The best was the group of drunk girls who started whistling and cheering and shouting "WHY SO SERIOUS?", which is a Joker line from the new movie lol.

Didn't get home until after 4am. I was quite drunk, and had to get into the shower to wash all the green hair dye and make up off me. That was great fun. Helped sober me up a bit, too lol.

Anyway, here's a few pics:

There was another Joker at the college party. Really nice guy, but I never realized how wide he could open his mouth until I saw this pic lol:

Now, I don't know if there are any Doctor Who fans here. But this guy was supposed to be The Master from Dr Who. But I stole his little gadget, don't ask me what it's called, Dr Who fans would know, and turned it against him. The Master was not impressed as you can see, but Joker always gets the last laugh:

I hope you all had a fun Halloween night. Anyone else who dressed up for it, please share your pics.

Yeah great pics there! I didn`t dress up but did wear all black and a bit of eyeliner...but still got stared at by people trying to work out exactly who I was (that happens most days actually) wish I could upload the pics (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) Ended up at some club and as soon as I walked in this huge glitter ball exploded above my head and I was covered in this tiny grtitty glitter molicules that ended up in places I never knew existed. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I`d rather be tarred and feathered anyday.

Fabulous pictures there, Stephen. You sound like you had a great time (especially with the Master). I'm a big-time Doctor Who fan and I think that gadget you're threatening him with is his Sonic Screwdriver. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I had a bit of a quiet night, like usual, just me and Eve working on the latest answers to the Daily Quiz and I wouldn't dare posts any pics of our Phantom Cheating. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Thanks for posting the pics, Stephen, they were a real treat. That's what it is. Thanks Carl! I was quite drunk by the time I actually caught the name of it from Craig aka The Master. That pic was taken toward the end of the night. We were all drunk and messing around in the kitchen, and The Master left his sonic screwdriver on the table. Foolish thing to do. The Joker doesn't leave his knives lying around for anyone to swipe (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Thank you all for the kind words :)

You Look great and obviously had a great time (and by the way, know some very cute guys!). Didja get any er, candy? (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

As for Spidey...I used to have this ummmm, thing for Spiderman and dated a guy who made his own awesome Spidey costume. Kinky LoL
Your mate brought back memories, and your friends all look great, too.

Last night I went out again as a Priest. Supposed to be the horny priest with inflatable crotch, but I didn't feel like wearing just a Priest Robe and realized with the club lights, you'd see my very very bright underwear right thru it, so wound up leaving my Jeans on with the robe tucked in. And left the inflatable thing home. I did show a few people my festive underwear after a few drinks when I explained why I was leaving my jeans on.

So was there any other costumed person you saw that was a favorite?

Guess what, guys, I went to ANOTHER costume party tonight. Some of my friends had a bunch of left over booze from last night, and decided to throw another party. It being saturday and all, I thought why not. A smaller affair than last night with not as many people in attendance. But it was still great fun. Just got home half an hour ago, and am sitting in my jammies after a nice shower. I took a few pics of myself before I left my house. And I even recorded a couple of videos which I'll upload on YouTube tomorrow and share here.

I didn't have my facial scars tonight, as I'd used them last night:

Hahaha, no, afraid not. Wouldn't have anyone smearing the make up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

LOL! I'll tell my mate. I know he'll be flattered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yes, there was a guy there as Two Face from the Dark Knight. He shaved half his hair and everything to do it. Talk about dedication. I wish I got a pic with him but I lost him after the we left the college party!

Spider-Man was great, too. Costume was completely accurate.

The camera nearly always gives me red eyes whenever I get a pic taken.

Ok, I promised a couple of videos, and here they are. They are quite short. I tried to make the lighting really dark/moody, so the white make up really stands out. It's like in the dark interrogation room scene in the movie. Joker is almost like a ghost.

I think I have to give you a bit of background to the first one, in what context the dialogue I'm saying is about.
Basically this is from the scene where the Joker is incarcerated at Police Headquarters, and he starts trying to wind up the Cop that's guarding him by asking him how many of his friends has he killed, and then explaining why he uses a knife. I did the knife dialogue here, and threw in a Why So Serious at the end for good measure lol: http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=6cfCloIirmM

Here's the second one: http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=XcMGIE5R75U

You've got a flair for this, Stephen - you should have been in the film! (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Did you keep in character during both parties, because you must have given a few party-goers a good old Halloween scare if you did. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Thanks for posting the vids, mate, it's given me a real drive to get the film and see the scenes in context. You haven't seen the movie? (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Oh man, make sure you check it out when it comes out on DVD next month. You can compare my vocal impression to Heath Ledger's voice in the movie and then tell me how well I compared.

I did stay in character for alot of the night, and re-enacted a few scenes from the movie with some friends. It was great fun. Thanks for the kind words, Carl :)

Finally got an email with a pic of my favorite Halloweener this year - some guy dressed as the Girl from "The Ring." He really looked awesome! Even crawled on the floor at one point. (IMG:http://www.prisonercellblockhworld.co.uk/forum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) As for me, I was lazy in my Priest's robe (tucked in).

Halloween was fun this year, as well as sharing it with you all.

Also saw a couple of Jokers out, but you looked best!

I dressed in a skeleton suit for Halloween party at my work.

I want to get the orange jump suit style convict uniform. That will be my purchase next Halloween.
